THE FORBIDDEN CHAMBER @ The Morris Graves Museum of Art

What lies in the chamber of your mind?  What do you require to believe something? How do you challenge your beliefs?  These questions are at the core of this immersive installation that combines animation, video, music and sound.

The Forbidden Chamber is a metaphorical meditation on the evolution of information and how individuals consume, process and disseminate it.  The chamber of your mind seems infinite to you as an individual, but is forbidden to anyone else from experiencing directly.  This exhibition invites you to examine how you process information in the privacy of your mind.

The Forbidden Chamber installation consists of three large scale, simultaneous projections.  The first projection depicts the genesis of information on a cosmic scale.

The second projection depicts the arrival of information on a blank world where it evolves to yield mobile chambers that consume, process and disseminate the information which, as a result, grows increasingly complex eventually yielding meaning and language.

The third projection takes us inside one of these chambers where we see a dense nebula of information particles it has consumed.  We zoom in to reveal questions it is asking in an attempt to grapple with the constant influx of information.
